Try one piece dipped in the sauce.

GUIDE 05
How to Eat Tangsuyuk
Dip or pour? That’s up to you.
WHAT IS IT?
Some diners dip each bite; others pour the sauce over everything. Both are personal preference.
HOW TO EAT IT
Try another with the sauce poured over it, if that is how your table prefers it.
Notice whether you like the crunch or the saucy bite more.
Use soy sauce, vinegar, and a little chili powder only if that sounds good to you.

Take it one relaxed bite at a time.
LOCAL TIP
The friendly ‘dip or pour’ debate is part of the fun, not a rule you need to get right.
TABLE TIP
Refill Your Side DishesNeed more banchan? Just ask the staff. Most Korean restaurants are happy to refill common side dishes at no extra charge, and some have a self-service banchan bar. A few dishes made with more expensive ingredients may be limited or not refillable. Don’t be shy—asking for more banchan is completely normal in Korea.
Choose the version you enjoy. There is no test at the end.
