Jincheong Yujeom
진청유점 · Fusion Korean Cuisine
ABOUT
Jincheongyujeom is a contemporary Korean restaurant in Yeonnam-dong with an unusual connection to a traditional Korean oil mill. The restaurant makes its own sesame oil and perilla oil, using them throughout the menu. Rather than focusing on heavy or highly seasoned dishes, the menu highlights the aroma of freshly pressed oils through dishes such as perilla oil makguksu, beef gangdoenjang ssambap and seasonal bibimbap. The menu combines familiar Korean dishes with more creative combinations. You can order a simple one-person meal such as ssambap, bibimbap or yangji-gomtang, or try dishes such as grilled mackerel with fernbrake risotto and yukhoe with seaweed rice rolls. Most individual dishes are in the ₩10,000–₩20,000 range, making it relatively accessible for a meal in the Yeonnam-dong area.
WHAT LOCALS SAY
The restaurant's freshly pressed oils are an important part of the dining experience. The perilla oil makguksu combines buckwheat noodles with the nutty aroma of freshly pressed perilla oil and whole perilla seeds. The beef gangdoenjang ssambap is another popular choice, served with fresh vegetables so you can wrap the rice and beef together with the seasoned soybean paste. Reviews also highlight the clean flavors and attractive presentation. The grilled mackerel with fernbrake risotto is one of the more unusual dishes, pairing a familiar Korean grilled fish with a Western-style risotto using Korean fernbrake. The restaurant has a small, warm interior with counter seating and two-person tables, making it suitable for both solo diners and small groups.

Jincheongyujeom offers a different side of Korean food: instead of relying on strong sauces or heavy seasoning, many dishes let the aroma of freshly pressed sesame or perilla oil stand out. Try the perilla oil makguksu for a simple introduction, or choose beef gangdoenjang ssambap if you want to experience the Korean tradition of wrapping rice, meat and vegetables in fresh leaves.
